5 Things You Didn’t Know You Could Do With Your Smartphone

Smartphones are a wonderful creation that has made our lives a lot easier and more convenient. Whether it’s using your phone to keep in touch with family members or to watch videos on the go, there are lots of common uses for a smartphone that we’re all accustomed to. However, there are also a couple of lesser-known conveniences and activities that you can use your phone for.

1. Mirror your screen

Most phones these days support some form of screen mirroring which is fantastic if you don’t want to watch a video on a small screen. This is perfect for sharing videos with other people as well. For example, if you found something entertaining on YouTube and want to share it on your large TV, all it takes is one button press and it will show on your TV.

However, you’ll need to have some kind of device connected to your TV in order for this to work. We recommend looking for instructions on how to screen mirror as the instructions will change based on what devices you own.

2. Connect other devices to the internet

Depending on if your carrier allows it, you can actually share your 4G data connection with other devices. Your phone can turn into a WiFi hotspot that can allow other devices such as a laptop or tablet to connect and access your connection.

This might be disabled by some carriers or it might just need to be enabled for it to work. This is great if you’re traveling and need to access the internet on your laptop and there’s no WiFi signal, or if your main internet connection stops working for some reason and you need a backup.

4. Stay safe when you’re heading out

There are a couple of different apps you can use to keep track of your location. Apps such as bSafe offer a range of features to make you feel at ease when you’re traveling around at night or walking home in the evening. It offers an SOS button you can press to alert emergency contacts, you can let trusted people track your current location and you can even record voice and video at the push of a button.
