About Deep Deception
James North, former U.S. Navy intelligence officer and political analyst, uses the complex and highly controversial issue of climate change to examine the very dark question about what mankind might do – moral and immoral – if faced with an apocalyptic situation on earth as a result of irreversible global warming in his new thought-provoking international thriller Deep Deception
Deep Deception begins as Caroline Dupré’s world is turned upside down when her political activist husband, François Dupré, is killed during a protest he organized in Malaysia that turned into a deadly riot. But François’ tragic death was no random act of violence. He was assassinated to stop him from revealing information that could destroy the sinister plans of a powerful and politically well-connected American oil tycoon. Soon after the activist’s death, the people who killed him discover that Caroline also holds information, albeit unwittingly, that could expose them.
Caroline barely has time to grieve her husband’s death when she receives a frantic phone call from Kristie Bremmer, a young activist who knew her husband and was with him in Kuala Lumpur. Having spoken with François shortly before his death, Bremmer tells Caroline that she believes her husband’s death, and the deaths of three of her closest friends, was part of a conspiracy—a carefully crafted plan with links to a threat her husband made to expose a plot by industrialists and corrupt politicians to scuttle an international effort to establish stringent environmental pollution policies aimed at limiting fossil fuel usage to stop global warming.
As people around her begin disappearing and her son is kidnapped, Caroline, in a race against time, struggling with killers hired by one of the world’s most powerful men, realizes that she must use her wit and steely resolve to save herself, her son, and possibly millions from certain death.
Deep Deception will not only keep you on the edge of your seat, but also looking over your shoulder at this very real global issue.
My Review of Deep Deception
This is a really good book and I think everyone should read it. Not only does it take you on a huge thrill ride, but it reads in a way that you feel like your watching a movie. By the way this would make an awesome move!
What I really love about this book is that the main character is a women and there is really no romance involved. It’s nice to have a story about a strong women who does what she has to do to save herself, her child and her husbands legacy.
This book like many I have been reading recently, really approaches a subject that some people want to talk about and others do not. The effects of what we as humans have on our planet and what we are doing about them. It’s a really interesting story that shows both the good and the bad in humanity.
