Finding Your Creative Passion

I have been lost for a while now, no I don’t mean literally lost, but figuratively lost. I have been drifting about trying to find meaning in my life. As a single women without kids in my 30’s it’s hard. society says I should have kids by now and they should be my whole life. I want kids but I have yet to find anyone who wants to settle down. I have poor love luck I guess.

Anyway, I am slowly starting to make myself look at me. I have come to the conclusion that even though I really, really want a family it will probably not happen, I know I’m only 32 it could change, but this mindset has been a great thing for me as it has allowed me to grow and explore my creative passions.

How do you explore your creative passion?

It’s really very easy, find something or things you think may be fun, quilting, jewelry making, pottery, dance, the list goes on. Now start doing little things with whatever you choose. I decided to start making jewelry. I have not done a lot, but I’ve already sold an amazing pair of earrings and it’s a great outlet for me.

For you it may be something else, it may lead you down an amazing road to great new friends and ideas. All you have to do is take that first step, Here is how I did it.

I thought of things I loved to or wanted to do.

  • Pottery
  • Jewelry Making
  • Art
  • Dancing
  • Writing
  • Candle making
  • Soap making
  • Knitting

Then I decided to pick three from the list that I knew I would be able to do easily in my spare time. I already blog so that one actually came off the list. I brought myself down to these three

  • Knitting
  • Jewelry Making
  • Pottery

The reason these three won is they are simple for me to do at home with my anxiety. Though I am getting much better now with everything I am still looking to use my creative passion to relax, not get myself worried.

Then I picked one. I decided on Jewelry Making because Pottery was a bit messy for my current living situation and knitting just seemed to hard to learn on my own.

Now it’s your turn, make up your list, narrow it down and share what creative passion you have decided to pursue!
