I decided this fall to buy something I have really wanted for a long time. Of course I also needed it for school and work so it was not really a splurge, but a long overdue buy. I bought myself the new Kindle Fire HD 7″, Dolby Audio, Dual-Band Wi-Fi. My sister has the first kindle and though it’s a great product for reading it doesn’t do much else. The Kindle Fire on the other hand does a lot more. Not only can I read the books I review right here on this blog with it, but I can download a sketch app so that I can do sketches for class and I’m thinking some great sketches for my home décor blog too!
I have the Kindle Fire HD 7”. It has wifi and Dolby surround sound and has an awesome camera so I can Skype on the go. I also like that it’s small and easily carried. They do also have a larger Kindle Fire HD 8.9″. The nice thing about the larger Kindle Fire is that you can get it with 4g capabilities.
Some awesome Kindle Fire HD features:
- 1280×800 HD display with polarizing filter and anti-glare technology for rich color and deep contrast from any viewing angle
- Exclusive Dolby audio and dual-driver stereo speakers for immersive, virtual surround sound
- World’s first tablet with dual-band, dual-antenna Wi-Fi for 40% faster downloads and streaming (compared to iPad 3)
- High performance 1.2 Ghz dual-core processor with Imagination PowerVR 3D graphics core for fast and fluid performance
- Over 22 million movies, TV shows, songs, magazines, books, audiobooks, and popular apps and games such as Facebook, Netflix, Twitter, HBO GO, Pandora, and Angry Birds Space
What do I love most about my Kindle Fire HD? Well, the HD of course. The picture is amazing and I love watching videos on it as well. It’s a great tool for long car rides as you can read or watch movies. It’s also nice because you can use it in the sun and not worry about being able to see. It’s great for teens and older kids too. Though for me it’s something I would watch around younger kids as it’s a little pricy to be giving to a 2 year old, though my niece does like to try to play with it!
Update:
The only downside so far is that you can’t use flash on the silk browser but you can download other browsers you can view that content on. Apparently it is something most tablets are dealing with now. Don’t know how to do it, Check out this video here, where you can learn how to download the dolphin browser for your kindle fire HD
