I have wanted to see this movie for a long time, since I heard it was being made. Not just because Johnny Depp is in it, but because I love the old west. So I finally got a chance to check it out yesterday and I have to say I loved it. Everyone has been bashing this movie, but I don’t get why. Everyone says it’s just a mess and that Depp is just playing Sparrow again, but I didn’t see where you would get that idea. Tonto is a different type of character and is nothing like the drunken Sparrow. I think some people just spoke before the saw the movie or probably never saw it at all.
Really this is not some epic movie, but I could really see younger boys and girls loving this. Take your kids, it’s a kid movie after all. I think we have just been so use to this crazy action movies with the sci-fi theme and too much action that we forget that we have a great classic grouping of things that go a bit slower, but can still be entertaining. Now I love those Sci-fi movies too, but sometimes it’s nice to see something a little more realistic, though not too real or it wouldn’t be a movie right?
I think this movies is aimed to kids and older adults, but it seems that I keep hearing horrible reviews from people not in that group. Of course the young adult male would have it because there is no nudity, sex or drugs or lots of blood.. Personally I think that modern movies have too much of that and no story line. Where the Lone Ranger has a story, maybe people don’t like it because it brings up a reality that most Americans don’t want to think about. How horrible we treated people who were not white.
I agree with your review on The Lone Ranger. I didn’t think people gave the movie a chance. I found it quite entertaining and I laughed through the entire movie along with my kids.
