With a brand new year around the corner, a new year is a time that signifies a fresh start, trying new things, and leaving the previous year behind. For a lot of people it can mean taking better care of their health, following a diet, exercising more, or finding other ways to be healthier.
When it comes to these kinds of new year’s resolutions, they can often be lofty and unattainable, which is why they fail so early on. In order to break that cycle of setting goals that can improve health, but also be something you can incorporate into your routine, here are some new year’s resolutions that you will still be able to keep.

Eat whole foods
If you are looking for a sure-fire way to be healthier, then look at the foods that you are eating. The best thing to do is to increase the number of whole foods that you consume. Whole foods are foods in their pure form, such as fruit, vegetables, seeds, meat, fish, grains, and other unprocessed foods.
Naturally, these all have a range of vitamins and minerals that you need and have a combination of nutrients, such as fiber and carbohydrates. When you eat whole foods, you are likely to decrease your risk of things like blood sugar problems, diabetes, and other disease risk factors. This is also something to keep doing every day, as you need to eat every day, so you can plan your meals accordingly.
Move more
This past year has been a time when we have moved much less than normal. Moving more and being active can help to burn calories as well as help to keep you feeling good.
Exercise, even walking, can help to relieve stress and give you the ‘feel-good’ hormone. When you set a goal to move more, rather than something specific like running 5km each day, it is something that is much more attainable. Some days you might only manage to go for a walk, but that is still moving!
Put Greater Trust in Your Healthcare Providers
If you’ve been skipping appointments and not getting the key parts of your body checked out by your healthcare providers for a while, you should change that. If you’re going to look after your health better, that’s something that needs to be done in collaboration with your doctor, your nutritionist, your chiropractor and whoever else can help you.
Try something new
When a new year comes it can be the perfect excuse to try something new. You might want to try a new exercise class that you have been wanting to try for a while. You might want to try adding essential oils to your lifestyle, in order to improve your health in a natural way. Think about something new that you want to try, and then give it a go. You never know, you might find something great.
Quality sleep getting a good night’s sleep is so important for health and wellbeing. What is even more important is making sure that the sleep that you are getting is quality sleep.
You could be in bed for eight hours, but if you are awake for half of that time, it isn’t going to be better than sleeping for six hours of good quality sleep. There are a number of things that can impact sleep, such as temperature, screens, food, alcohol, and caffeine, so take steps to make changes today.
