Should You Try Death Wish Expresso Roast Coffee?

Coffee, for many, is a must-have before speaking to anyone in the morning. While others prefer a dessert-type coffee that is more of a treat than a must-have. I enjoy a couple of cups a day and the occasional dessert coffee; however, I do fall more into the don’t talk to me until I have my coffee group.

What is most important to me when it comes to my morning cup is that my coffee tastes good, and the company I buy from has similar values to mine; that is why I’m so excited to partner with Death Wish Coffee. The company has a fair trade certification, offers discounts for military members, and is active in various communities.

Disclosure: I received a free sample of Death Wish Coffee to review, and if you buy through any of the links in this post, I receive a commission that helps me run this blog and others.

My experience with Death Wish Coffees Espresso Roast.

Although I received a sample of the Espresso Roast coffee to review, you can see by the photo above that I am not new to the Death Wish Brand. I usually enjoy an excellent dark roast coffee and have purchased Death Wish Dark Roast. However, this is my first experience with the Espresso Roast.

What I love the most about this coffee is that it does have a strong flavor without being overpowering. That said, I enjoy the taste of coffee and drink my coffee black often. For this review, I have tried it with holiday coffee creamers and without, and what I am impressed with is how the coffee flavor still comes through even with coffee creamer.

Another good thing to note about the Espresso roast is that you don’t need an espresso maker to use this. The grind is a medium grind that is perfect for at-home coffee makers. You still get that fantastic espresso flavor without needing the extra machine. However, a friend of mine loves using her’s in a french press, and she claims it makes the coffee taste better. I don’t have a french press, and my friend is in another state, so I can not give my personal opinion on it.

Compared to more popular brands, I found Death Wish Coffee to have a smoother taste, and the espresso roast is no exception. It doesn’t have the bitter notes that some of the more mainstream brands have, and in my opinion, that makes a great coffee experience.

Regarding shelf life, I received the already-ground coffee to review, and even after almost a month, it is still fresh tasting. If you like incredibly fresh coffee, they offer whole beans will be a better option to extend the shelf life.

What do I not like? As much as I try with most of my reviews to have a downside to a product. I don’t have one for the Espresso Roast, except maybe I need a larger bag. However, I want to stress that this is probably not the coffee for you if you are not a fan of dark-roasted bold coffee. The good news is that Death Wish does offer a variety of roasts for anyone who wants a good cup of coffee.
