What the Bride Wore: Book Review

About What the Bride Wore

This hot series is set in a daring, high-energy Regency world where deep longings, secret scandals, and the competition for social stature are all set against the glittering weddings of the season.

Grant Benton, Earl of Crowle finally has the funds he always pretended to have and what he wants now is a woman. That woman is Lady Irene Knopp, who spends her days helping debutantes plan their weddings. A recent widow, Irene longs for love again, but she’s afraid to risk her heart, especially to the notorious Grant Benton.

My Review of What the Bride Wore

Regency books are a favorite romance books, but this one was so different and I was so happy to read it.

I loved the previous book in this series: Winning a Bride and was so happy to be able to read the two of them close together, it’s so nice to be able to continue a series when the previous is still fresh in your mind.

What drew me to this book is that you get a look at that high society life from the impoverished point of view. Not that the main characters are starving, but they did not have the money and power that you see in most of this eras books. It’s a refreshing twist, though the Earl of Crowle would probably not agree with me! He really did not like having to stoop down to the working man level, but as a man I believe it helped his character grow. Though I would have liked to see a little more in depth look at a few other things, overall this was a great book.

You find you just love the Earl and Lady Irene. Even though they spend some time fighting each other, they do work well together, It’s a fun, thrilling romance that will keep you turning page after page.
